CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A series between a pair of teams in the top-three of the D1Baseball Top 25Poll will headline the upcoming weekend of Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball. As the schedule turns toward the back half of conference play, the ACC regular season standings are beginning to take shape with a highly competitive field.
The series between No. 2 Georgia Tech and No. 3 North Carolina in Chapel Hill will be the focus of college baseball this weekend. The Yellow Jackets enter the series with the nation’s longest winning streak at 13 games, while the Tar Heels are one of the best teams nationally at home, boasting a 21-4-1 record at Boshamer Stadium this season. The April 13 rankings mark just the fourth time in the history of the D1Baseball Top 25 that two ACC teams have occupied two of the top three spots and the first time since May 2023. The final two games of the series will be televised on ACC Network, beginning at noon ET on Saturday, April 18, and 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 19.
Headlined by the Yellow Jackets and Tar Heels, five ACC teams appear in the D1Baseball Top 25 this week. Joining Georgia Tech and North Carolina are No. 8 Florida State, No. 9 Virginia and No. 24 Boston College. The ACC’s four teams in the top 10 are the most of any conference. Throughout the 2026 campaign, 10 different ACC teams have appeared in the D1Baseball rankings.
The Seminoles, Cavaliers and Eagles all put their top-25 rankings on the line this weekend at home in conference series. Florida State will host Notre Dame, while Virginia will square off with Clemson and Boston College will welcome Duke. The Tigers and Cavaliers will open ACC action on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
In-state rivals NC State and Wake Forest will square off for three games in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The series will feature the two winningest head coaches in the ACC in NC State’s Elliott Avent (1,320 wins) and Wake Forest’s Tom Walter (950 wins).
Louisville and Miami will each make the trip to the West Coast. The Hurricanes will travel to Stanford, California, to meet the Cardinal, while the Cardinals will head to Berkeley, California, for three games against California.
Pitt will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a three-game series against Virginia Tech.
