CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – For the second time in five seasons, the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship will be held in the Sunshine State. Shark’s Tooth Golf Course at Watersound Club in Panama City, Florida, will host the 72nd edition of the championship beginning Thursday, April 23, with stroke play and concluding with the match play final on Monday, April 27.
The 15-team field will play three consecutive days of 18 holes beginning Thursday with the top eight teams advancing to match play. The match-play quarterfinals will begin on Sunday, April 26, followed immediately by the semifinals for a 36-hole day. The match-play final is set for Monday, as both the semifinals and final will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
Admission is free for all spectators throughout all five days of the 2026 ACC Men’s Golf Championship. The tournament is not a ticketed event.
ACC Notes
- In the latest edition of the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll, released on April 11, six ACC teams are in the top 25, with North Carolina leading the way at No. 8. Florida State is No. 10, Virginia is No. 11, Duke is No. 16 and Georgia Tech is No. 22. Louisville, Notre Dame and SMU are receiving votes.
- The ACC has five teams ranked in the top 25 in the latest spring rankings by Scoreboard powered by Clippd (April 22): No. 2 Virginia, No. 9 North Carolina, No. 18 Stanford, No. 21 Georgia Tech and No. 24 Florida State.
- In the most recent Scoreboard powered by Clippd Individual Rankings (April 22), six ACC players are ranked among the top 25, headlined by No. 2 Ben James of Virginia. Following James is No. 8 Paul Chang (Virginia), No. 10 Tyler Weaver (Florida State), No. 11 Bryan Kim (Duke), No. 12 Niall Sheils Donegan (North Carolina) and No. 14 William Sides (SMU).
- Four ACC players are in the latest PGA TOUR University top 25 rankings, headlined by Virginia’s Ben James, who holds the No. 1 spot. Joining James are No. 7 William Sides (SMU), No. 13 Paul Chang (Virginia) and No. 16 Bryan Lee (Virginia).
- Josh Duangmanee (Virginia), Ben James (Virginia), Bryan Kim (Duke) and Bryan Lee (Virginia) were named to the 2026 Haskins Award presented by Stifel Spring Watch List.
- Ben James (Virginia) and Tyler Weaver (Florida State) were named semifinalists for the 2026 Ben Hogan Award.
- ACC teams combined to win 19 team titles, led by Virginia with four victories, including three this spring. Individually, ACC players won 24 tournaments, paced by SMU’s William Sides, who earned three medalist honors throughout the 2025-26 season.
- Virginia claimed the 2025 ACC Men’s Golf Championship, downing North Carolina 3-2 in the match-play final at the Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The title was the first for the Cavaliers in program history.
- Notre Dame’s Jacob Modleski became the first Notre Dame player to win medalist honors at the ACC Championship, finishing the three rounds at 9-under (207).
- A conference-record 12 ACC teams earned a spot in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals. The 12 selections broke the previous mark of 10 regional teams, set three times. It also marked the 18th time in the past 19 years that at least eight ACC teams have earned regional bids.
- Five ACC teams – California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia and Wake Forest – advanced to the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships with the Cavaliers advancing to the match-play final. UVA ultimately fell to Oklahoma State, 3-2, in the championship match.
- Individual players racked up national awards last season, as Florida State’s Luke Clanton was named the 2025 Ben Hogan Award winner, while North Carolina’s David Ford won the 2025 Haskins Award. Ford also was the top player in the final PGA TOUR U rankings.
