ACC Reveals 2025-26 Men's Tennis Yearly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis awards were announced on Thursday, as Virginia’s Dylan Dietrich was voted the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, while Wake Forest’s Mees Rottgering was tabbed the ACC Freshman of the Year, respectively, by the league’s 16 head coaches. Wake Forest head coach Tony Bresky was voted the ACC Coach of the Year.

The No. 1 nationally ranked singles player, Dietrich, helped lead Virginia to a share of the regular-season title and its third consecutive appearance in the finals of the ACC Championship. In the fall, Dietrich went undefeated in doubles play, 12-0, with partner Stiles Brockett to win the 2025 NCAA Doubles Men’s Tennis Championship. He was voted the No. 1 ranked singles player for the first time on March 3 and again on April 7, spending the remaining three weeks of the regular season at the top while recording three ACC Player of the Week honors. The junior out of Zurich, Switzerland, finished the spring regular season at 19-1 in singles play.

Rottgering was named the ACC Freshman of the Week four times this season, the most freshman weekly awards in the conference. Rottgering helped lead Wake Forest to both a share of the regular-season title and an ACC Championship title this season and was named the Most Valuable Player of the conference championship following a 14-3 record in singles play during the regular season.

Leading Wake Forest to a share of the ACC regular-season title and its fourth ACC Championship title, Bresky was voted the ACC Coach of the Year for the second straight season. The ACC honor is the fourth of his career, having also won the award in 2013 and 2016. With the victory, Wake Forest recorded its 60th ACC title in Demon Deacons Athletics history, while Bresky became just the fifth coach in Wake Forest history with four-or-more ACC titles to their name.
