CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes and coaches combined to win four of the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men's National Awards, as Virginia’s Dylan Dietrich was named the ITA Division I Men’s Player of the Year and Cavaliers’ head coach Andres Pedroso was named the ITA/Dunlop Coach of the Year. Additionally, SMU’s Trevor Svajda was voted the ITA Player to Watch and Notre Dame’s Sebastian Dominko received the ITA Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award.
Dietrich, ACC Player of the Year and NCAA Championship MVP, finished the season ranked No. 1 in the ITA singles rankings after putting together a 29-4 overall record. Playing primarily on court one, he went 24-1 during the spring, with his lone loss coming to Ohio State’s Aidan Kim in the ITA Indoor National Championships semifinals on Feb. 16. Dietrich closed out his 2026 campaign by rallying for a 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4 victory over No. 3 Sebastian Gorzny of Texas, securing the clinching point in Virginia’s NCAA Championship match victory. The honor marks Dietrich’s third consecutive All-America selection.
Svajda was awarded two ITA All-America honors after reaching the NCAA Singles Championship Round of 16 and being ranked No. 4 in the final ITA Singles rankings of the season. He held the No. 1 singles ranking in the nation on four occasions, while staying in the top five of the rankings for the duration of the season, recording a 21-3 singles record that included nine ranked wins.
Dominko took home the national ITA Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award, which honors a Division I men’s student-athlete who displays sportsmanship, character, excellent academics and has had outstanding accomplishments, in recognition of his leadership and success both on the court and off this season. Closing out the 2026 season, Dominko is in the top five in Notre Dame history in career wins at the No. 1 singles and doubles and is the first seven-time NCAA Individual Championship (singles & doubles) qualifier in the history of the program.
Pedroso earned his third ITA Coach of the Year accolade after leading the Cavaliers to their seventh NCAA team Championship title and Måns Dahlberg and Dietrich to the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championship title. Under Pedroso’s leadership, the Cavaliers closed out the season with a 28-4 record and three ITA All-Americans in Keegan Rice, Dahlberg and Dietrich.
