More than 375 ACC Standouts Prepared for NCAA Track & Field First Round Competition

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A total of 376 student-athletes from the Atlantic Coast Conference have qualified for the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships First Round competitions. The competition\ will begin on Wednesday, May 27, and run through Saturday, May 30.
 
The first-round competitions are scheduled for May 27-30. The University of Kentucky, in Lexington, Kentucky, will host the East First Round and the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, will host the West first round. The qualifiers out of these two regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
 
All 35 ACC men’s and women’s track & field programs qualified at least two student-athletes for the national meet. The Duke women lead all ACC programs with 27 entries to the national meet, followed by Virginia with 22 and Stanford with 20. On the men’s side, Virginia Tech leads the way with 17 entries, while Duke and Virginia log 16 entries each.
 
Competition for the NCAA first-round competitions will both begin on Wednesday with the men’s hammer throw, with the East beginning at 9 a.m. ET, while the West will get underway at 10 a.m. ET.
