CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Matching last season’s conference record, 12 Atlantic Coast Conference teams heard their names called during Wednesday’s selection show for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals, with at least one ACC representative at each of the six regional sites. This marks the 19th time in the past 20 years that at least eight ACC teams have earned regional bids.
After winning its second straight ACC title, Virginia earned the league’s lone No. 1 seed. The Cavaliers headline a group of four ACC teams at the Bermuda Run Regional, as UVA will be joined by fourth-seeded Georgia Tech, sixth-seeded Wake Forest and ninth-seeded NC State.
North Carolina earned a No. 2 seed at the Bryan, Texas Regional, while Stanford, the runner-up at the ACC Men’s Golf Championship, will be the No. 3 seed in Columbus, Ohio, along with fifth-seeded Florida State and eighth-seeded California.
A pair of ACC teams will make the trip to Marana, Arizona, as fifth-seeded Duke and sixth-seeded Clemson will compete in the desert, while Louisville (Athens, Georgia) and Notre Dame (Corvallis, Oregon) each earned sixth seeds in their respective regionals.
The ACC will also send two individuals to regionals, as the SMU tandem of William Sides and Ben Steinmann will stay in Texas at the Bryan Regional.
Regional play across six sites is set to begin Monday, May 18, and will run through Wednesday, May 20. Three rounds of stroke play will determine the 30 qualifying teams and six individuals (not on those qualifying teams) who will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, set for May 28-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
Last season, five ACC teams advanced to the 30-team field in Carlsbad, before Virginia earned the seventh seed in the match play quarterfinals. After upsetting second-seeded Auburn and third-seeded Florida, the Cavaliers fell to Oklahoma State in the match play final, marking the third straight season an ACC team has advanced to the championship round.
