12 ACC Teams Prepare for 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A total of 12 Atlantic Coast Conference men’s golf teams will travel to regionals of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships. Regional action begins Monday, May 18, and wraps up with the final round on Wednesday, May 20.

Regional play across six sites is set to begin Monday, May 18, and will run through Wednesday, May 20. Three rounds of stroke play will determine the 30 qualifying teams and six individuals (not on those qualifying teams) who will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, set for May 28-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Last season, five ACC teams advanced to the 30-team field in Carlsbad, before Virginia earned the seventh seed in the match play quarterfinals. After upsetting second-seeded Auburn and third-seeded Florida, the Cavaliers fell to Oklahoma State in the match play final, marking the third straight season that an ACC team has advanced to the championship round.

The 12 ACC teams match the most the conference has ever sent to regionals, matching last season’s total. It marks the 19th time in the past 20 years that at least eight ACC teams have earned regional bids.

At least one ACC team will be represented in all six regionals, including four teams heading to Bermuda Run, North Carolina, where Virginia will be the top seed. The Cavaliers will be joined by No. 4 seed Georgia Tech, No. 6 seed Wake Forest and No. 9 seed NC State. Three ACC teams will travel to the Buckeye State for the Columbus Regional, with No. 3 Stanford, No. 5 seed Florida State and No. 8 seed California competing there, while a pair of league squads, No. 5 seed Duke and No. 6 seed Clemson, will head to the Marana, Arizona, Regional. No. 2 seed North Carolina (Bryan, Texas Regional), and No. 6 seeds Louisville (Athens, Georgia Regional) and Notre Dame (Corvallis, Oregon Regional) round out the ACC contingent. SMU’s William Sides and Ben Steinmann will compete at the Bryan Regional as individuals.
