CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Sixteen Atlantic Coast Conference football student-athletes were named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, announced Tuesday by the Wuerffel Foundation.
The ACC’s 16 honorees represent 16 different conference programs on the 113-player watch list, the second-most selections of any FBS conference.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), is college football’s premier award for community service and is presented annually to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field. Established in 2005 and named for 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel, the award is celebrating its 22nd anniversary in 2026.

For the third consecutive year, the Wuerffel Foundation is partnering with Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) to unite college football’s top community service honors with the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. In September, 11 student-athletes from the Watch List will be selected to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and become semifinalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
Finalists for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy will be selected by the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy National Selection Committee with input from a fan vote. The 2026 recipient will be announced live on
The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 11 and will also serve as captain of the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The recipient and finalists will be invited to New York City for Heisman Trophy events, with the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Presentation Gala to follow in February 2027 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
