GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) -- Virginia senior Brittany Altomare (Shrewsbury, Mass.), the 2013 individual medalist at this year's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship, was named the 2013 ACC Women's Golf Player of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Altomare was the unanimous choice of the league's nine head coaches for Player of the Year. She becomes the first Virginia player to win the award. She earned medalist honors by shooting a four-over par 217, April 19-21, at the ACC Championship.

Duke, which captured its 18^th ACC Women's Golf title last month at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, led all teams with four players selected to the All-ACC squad, which was also named by the league's head coaches. Blue Devil senior Lindy Duncan (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), the runner-up in the balloting for ACC Player of the Year, led  four Blue Devils on the All-ACC team, including junior Laetitia Beck (Caesarea, Israel), junior Alejandra Cangrejo (Bogota, Columbia) and freshman Celine Boutier (Montrouge, France).

Duncan, the ACC Player of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and Virginia's Altomare were named to the All-ACC team for the fourth time. Duke's Beck was named to the All-ACC team for the third straight year.

Boutier was named the ACC's Freshman of the Year, outdistancing Isabel Southard (Sharon, Mass.) of Boston College and Elizabeth Mallett (Sutton Coldfield, England) of North Carolina for the honor. Boutier becomes the 14^th Duke women's golfer to be named ACC Freshman of the Year, including both Duncan (2010) and Beck (2011).

Duke head coach Dan Brooks was named ACC Coach of the Year for the 13^th time and the second year in a row, after guiding the Blue Devils to their second straight ACC title.  Duke (882) captured the title by 24 strokes over second-place NC State (906). NC State's  Page Marsh was the runner-up in Coach of the Year balloting after guiding the Wolfpack to their best finish in the ACC Women's Tournament.

Virginia, North Carolina and NC State each had two players tabbed for the All-ACC team, with Miami and Florida State each having one player chosen.

Joining Altomare on the All-ACC squad from Virginia is sophomore Briana Mao (Folsom, Calif.).

North Carolina was represented on the All-ACC squad by a pair of juniors in Casey Grice of College Station, Texas, and Jackie Chang of Scottsdale, Ariz., while NC State placed two players from Ontario, Canada,  on the team in junior Brittany Marchand (Orangeville) and sophomore Augusta James (Bath).

Florida State senior Jessica Negron (Ocala, Fla.) and Miami sophomore Leticia Ras-Anderica (Moraira, Spain) complete the 12-person All-ACC squad.

A total of six women's golfers repeated on this year's All-ACC team after earning selection in 2012 in Altomare, Duncan, Beck, Grice, James and Marchand.
