Clemson's Nimmer Named ACC Men's Golfer of the Month

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson's Bryson Nimmer has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for September.

Nimmer, a senior from Bluffton, South Carolina, had the best month in Clemson golf history with two medalist honors and one second-place finish. He became the fourth player in Clemson history to win consecutive tournaments, and the first to do it in the first two tournaments of the season.

All three tournaments were against fields with national teams. At the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic in Dalton, Georgia, Nimmer shot 65 in the last round to overcome a six-shot deficit to win by one stroke. At the Maui Jim Intercollegiate in Scottsdale, Arizona, he shot a Clemson record 195 with a record 15-under par total (for 54 holes).  The following week at the Nike Collegiate, Nimmer finished second when another player made a 33-foot putt for birdie on the last hole to beat him by a shot.

Nimmer has four rounds of 65 or better this year, which is already the Clemson record for rounds of 65 or better in a complete season.
