Notre Dame Earns ACC Men’s Tennis Weekly Honors

Greensboro, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame’s Tristan McCormick has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, and McCormick and teammate Axel Nefve have been selected as the Doubles Team of the Week.
 
A junior from Berwyn, Pennsylvania, McCormick had a strong showing in Notre Dame’s match against Illinois. He won his match at the No. 3 singles position over Illinois’ 42nd-ranked Siphosothando Montsi in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
 
Nefve, a sophomore from Boca Raton, Florida, teamed up with McCormick for the win at the No. 1 doubles spot over Illinois’ Alex Brown and Aleks Kovacevic, 6-3. Brown and Kovacevic are the No. 43-ranked doubles pair nationally.
