GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami’s Renate Grimstad has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for February.
Grimstad dominated the UCF Challenge to open her final collegiate spring season. The senior from Bergen, Norway, opened the three-day event with a 6-under 66, followed by a 5-under 67 and a 3-under 69, to secure her first collegiate title, with a 14-under 202. She won the event by seven strokes and registered the second lowest 54-hole score in program history. In addition, Grimstad's performance in February helped her increase her overall lead in the ACC with a -1.24 relative to par score, alongside her average score of 70.59 through 17 completed rounds. Both stats are on pace to shatter UM program records.
As a team, Grimstad’s first-place finish helped Miami lock up third place at the UCF Challenge, while capturing second at the Allstate Sugar Bowl, topping then-No. 13 Michigan State by 6 strokes and then-No. 23 Houston by 10.
