Greensboro, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State’s Alexis Galarneau has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Miami’s Franco Aubone and Benjamin Hannestad have been selected as the Doubles Team of the Week.
 
Galarneau went undefeated in NC State’s wins over Louisville (4-0) and Notre Dame (5-2). The Laval, Canada, native defeated Louisville’s 71st-ranked Tim Chen (7-6 [4], 6-2) and Notre Dame’s No. 6-ranked Richard Ciamarra (6-0, 6-1). In doubles, Galarneau paired up with Robert Turzak for two victories.
 
Aubone, a junior from San Juan, Argentina, and Hannestad, a senior from Vedbaek, Denmark, helped the Canes to a perfect opening ACC weekend. In a 6-1 victory over Georgia Tech, the duo earned its first ranked win of the year with a victory over 31st-ranked Marcus McDaniel and Pablo Schelcher, 6-3, clinching the doubles point for Miami. The Hurricane tandem also defeated Clemson’s pair of Teodor Giusca and Yizhou Liu, 6-3, helping Miami take the crucial doubles point for a 4-3 team win.
