GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse junior attacker Meaghan Tyrrell has been named ACC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while North Carolina senior goalie Taylor Moreno was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Tyrrell racked up 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists in three Syracuse wins last week. She recorded a career-high 10 points and seven goals Friday in the Orange’s 19-5 win at Louisville. The performance included her 100th career goal. Her 10 points tied for fourth and her seven goals tied for second on Syracuse's single-game record list. A native of Mount Sinai, New York, Tyrrell also dished out a career-high five assists in Syracuse’s Sunday win against the Cardinals. She started the week by scoring five goals and assisting on two goals in a non-conference win over Albany.
 
Moreno stymied Virginia in a pair of North Carolina wins over the weekend. She was dominant in the cage on both Friday and Sunday, as UNC limited the Cavaliers to single-digit goals in both games. On Friday, the native of Huntington, New York, made four saves in a 20-8 win, while also gathering two ground balls in 44:24 of action. On Sunday, she and the UNC defense limited Virginia to just four first-half shots in a 15-4 victory. She made four saves in the contest.
 
Heading into the final weekend of conference play, seven ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked in the IWLCA poll, including four of the top five: North Carolina (1), Syracuse (3), Boston College (4), Notre Dame (5), Virginia (7), Duke (8) and Louisville (19). BC travels to Syracuse this weekend for a two-game series; the series opener airs at 6 p.m. Thursday on ESPNU. UNC can clinch the ACC’s regular-season title Friday when it plays at Duke. The contest will stream on ACCNX beginning at 5 p.m.
