GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech’s Keshav Chopra has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week and Virginia Tech’s Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week.
Chopra was the only player to go 3-0 in both singles and doubles at the MLK Invitational over the weekend and was also the only player to defeat two ranked opponents at the event. A native of Marietta, Georgia, Chopra knocked off No. 87 Hugo Hashimoto of Columbia (6-3, 6-2) followed by wins over No. 116 Kweisi Kenyatte of Illinois (6-2, 6-3) and Ben Gollin of Columbia (6-1, 6-2). In doubles competition, Chopra teamed with Pablo Schelcher to win all three doubles matches.
Virginia Tech’s Chrysostom and Fishback earned the league’s only ranked doubles win of the week, knocking off Michigan’s No. 43-ranked team of Andrew Fenty and Nino Ehrenschneider at the No. 1 doubles position by a 6-3 score.
