GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Following a strong showing at the Virginia Invitational, North Carolina’s Second Varsity Four has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week.

The crew finished nearly 20 seconds ahead of the second-place boat on Saturday at the UVA Invitational. The Tar Heel’s Second Varsity Four clocked a time of 9:35.50 to defeat No. 20 Tennessee, which recorded a time of 9:55.10.

It was North Carolina’s spring season debut, as the squad turned in a strong performance at the Rivanna Reservoir competing against the Volunteers and UCF.

The Tar Heels return to action on Saturday, April 2, when they compete against Bucknell, Boston College, and George Washington at the Bucknell River Complex in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania.
