Duke pushed across five runs on three home runs in the bottom half of the sixth to extend its lead to 9-3. Francesca Frelick and Jameson Kavel hit two-run homers to left field, while Deja Davis belted a pinch-hit home run to center field.

Georgia Tech made it interesting in the seventh following a solo homer by Tricia Awald and Cowden’s second home run of the game to narrow the Duke lead to 9-6, but the Yellow Jackets couldn’t get any closer.
