Clemson, Duke, Syracuse and Virginia Qualify for all Five Grand Finals at ACC Rowing Championship

CLEMSON, S.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson, Duke, Syracuse and Virginia qualified boats for all five Grand Finals in the preliminaries of the 2022 ACC Rowing Championship held Friday morning at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina. Louisville qualified for four Grand Finals, while Miami will be in three and Notre Dame in two.
 
Virginia, which has won 11 consecutive rowing titles had the fastest time in the Varsity Eight (6:38.931), Second Varsity Eight (6:42.850), Third Varsity Eight (6:58.735) and Varsity Four (7:30.755). Duke had the fastest time in the Second Varsity Four (7:34.747).
 
The top three boats from each preliminary race qualify for the Grand Finals, while the other three boats will compete in the Petite Finals. The Petite Final will be held prior to the Grand Final of each event, with action set to begin at 8:05 a.m. The order of events includes the Third Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Four, Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight.
 
The 2022 ACC Rowing Championship will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra from 8-10:30 a.m. A two-hour championship recap show will air on ACC Network on May 24 at 8 p.m.

Three ACC teams are ranked among the latest Pocock/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll with Syracuse headlining the group at No. 11, followed by No. 14 Duke and No. 15 Virginia. Additionally, Louisville and Clemson are receiving votes, as the first two teams outside of the top 20.
