After advancing to the title game of the ACC Championship, the Clemson Tigers are the No. 10 seed and welcome UNCW (32-13) to McWhorter Stadium. Friday’s first pitch is set for noon and will air live on ACC Network. The Tigers, which played their inaugural season of softball in 2020, are making their second NCAA appearance.

For the second consecutive year, Duke is among the top 16 seeds in the tournament, and the Blue Devils will host a regional for the first time. Duke, the No. 12 seed, opens its NCAA run against UMBC (31-10) at 2:30 p.m. Friday on ESPN+. The Blue Devils are in the field for the second time in program history.

Notre Dame will make the short trip to Evanston, Illinois, to compete in a regional hosted by Northwestern in the Fighting Irish’s 26th overall NCAA appearance and 23rd consecutive. Notre Dame is the two seed in the regional and will play McNeese (38-19) at 2 p.m. Friday on ESPN+.

Regionals will be held May 20-22 on 16 campus sites. At each campus site, a four- team, double-elimination tournament will be conducted, and the 16 winning teams advance to the super regionals.

Super regionals for the championship will be held May 26-29 on eight campus sites. At each site, two teams play in a best-of-three tournament format. The winners from each super regional advance to the NCAA® Women’s College World Series (WCWS) from June 2-9/10 at OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

ESPN will provide coverage from all 16 regional sites on one of the ESPN family of networks, which was announced during the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Show. ESPN will televise every game of the Super Regionals for the 16th consecutive year, 2020 notwithstanding, since 2007.
