GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse grad attack Meaghan Tyrrell was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, while senior teammate Delaney Sweitzer claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Also named the IWLCA National Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, Tyrrell posted another huge game as the Orange knocked off a top-five opponent for the second straight week with a 20-11 rout of No. 2 Maryland. The native of Mount Sinai, New York, played a role in 11 of Syracuse’s 20 goals, with six goals and five assists. Her six goals came on just eight shots. She scored three goals and had two assists in the first 12 minutes as the Orange took a 6-2 lead. Five of her points came in the second half as Syracuse pulled away for the dominating victory.
 
A native of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, Sweitzer made a career-high 13 saves in Syracuse's win against No. 2 Maryland. Six of her saves came against Maryland free-position attempts. Sweitzer has reached double figures in both games this season, both against top-five opponents.

Seven ACC teams are ranked in the latest IL Women/IWLCA national poll, with UNC (1), Syracuse (2), Boston College (4), Duke (10), Virginia (12), Notre Dame (14) and Louisville (23). The ACC’s seven ranked teams is the most of any conference.
