CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference today announced its 2023-24 women’s basketball conference schedule, including game times and television designations. The season tips off on Monday, Nov. 6, with nine ACC teams taking the court.
“The annual anticipation and excitement surrounding ACC Basketball – both men’s and women’s – never disappoints, and we look forward to another year of incredible competition,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “Our men’s and women’s schedules will once again feature fantastic matchups as our amazing student-athletes and programs compete for championships. We continue to appreciate our partners at ESPN and ACC Network for making every game accessible to our fans, and we welcome The CW to our television package this season.”
ACC play consists of 18-game schedules for each school. All 135 ACC regular-season conference games will be available through the ESPN family of networks, including ACC Network and ACC Network Extra or The CW. A record 86 games will be televised on ACC Network – 73 regular season games and 13 during the Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
Nine key conference matchups are slated for a national broadcast on The CW Network, which is televising ACC games for the first time this season.
Conference play tips off on Thursday, Dec. 7 with Duke visiting Clemson. The first full day of league games is Sunday, Dec. 31, with seven scheduled contests.
The 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held March 6-10 at Greensboro Coliseum. Greensboro will host the tournament for the 24th time in the last 25 years. For the second straight year, ACC Network will be the exclusive broadcast home for the first four days of the tournament. The championship game will air on ESPN or ESPN2.
The broadcast networks for the inaugural 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge, scheduled from Nov. 29-30, were
announced Monday by ESPN. All 14 games will air on ESPN’s networks and be available to stream via the ESPN app to authenticated subscribers.
Five ACC programs are ranked in the
ESPN’s Way Too Early Top 25 poll: No. 9 Virginia Tech, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 14 Louisville, No. 15 Florida State and No. 19 North Carolina.
ACC member institutions have won three NCAA Championships and made 26 appearances in the Final Four. With Virginia Tech’s run last season, nine different institutions have represented the ACC in the Women’s Final Four.
A nation-best eight ACC teams were selected to compete in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. It marked the fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament in which eight ACC teams were selected, which ties the league record and is the most among all conferences in the span.
The ACC placed four teams in the Sweet 16 last season and is the only conference to have at least three teams in the regional semifinals in each of the last nine NCAA Tournaments.
