Virginia’s James Named ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia senior Ben James has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for September.

  • Tied for third place at the Invitational at the Honors Course with a 5-under 211.
  • Shared medalist honors at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at 1-under 209.
  • Earned his 26th and 27th top-10 finishes of his collegiate career.
  • Maintained his No. 1 spot in the PGA TOUR U Rankings through the first month of the 2025-26 season.
ACC Men’s Golf Notes
  • ACC men’s golf teams captured six tournament titles in September, led by Wake Forest with two wins.
  • ACC players claimed eight individual titles, with Boston College’s Markus Lam the only player to earn multiple medalist honors.
  • Last season, Virginia advanced to its first-ever match-play final at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships before narrowly falling to Oklahoma State.
