Louisville to Host ACC Cross Country Championships on Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (theACC.com) – Louisville will host the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 31 at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The Women’s 6K Championship will begin at 9:40 a.m. ET, followed by the Men’s 8K Championship at 10:30 a.m. ET. ACC Network will have live coverage of both races beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
 
The women’s championship will mark the second cross country championship to feature all 18 ACC schools. After joining the ACC in the summer of 2024, California, Stanford and SMU will travel to Louisville for their second ACC cross country championship since joining the league.

Men’s preseason favorite and defending ACC Champion, Wake Forest, looks to claim its third ACC men’s title in four years. Women’s preseason favorite and three-time NCAA Cross Country Champion, NC State, will be tested on the course by the 2024 ACC Women’s Cross Country Champion, Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish won their first-ever conference title last year and were picked No. 2 in this year’s preseason coaches’ poll.
 
NC State’s Grace Hartman looks to defend her individual title and become the seventh consecutive member of the Wolfpack to earn the ACC’s individual women’s title. On the men’s side, Gary Martin from Virginia will look to go back-to-back as the ACC men’s individual champion.
 
After the Week 4 USTFCCCA Coaches’ Poll, the ACC leads all conferences with seven men’s teams ranked in the top 30 and is tied for most women’s teams, with six. Men’s cross country is led by No. 4 Virginia, followed by No. 6 Syracuse, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 23 North Carolina and Stanford and Virginia Tech are tied at No. 27. No. 2 NC State leads the women’s poll, followed by No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 13 Stanford, No. 15 Virginia, No. 28 Wake Forest and No. 30 Boston College.
 
Noting ACC Cross Country
  • The ACC has won five NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championships and one NCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship.
  • A total of 15 ACC student-athletes (eight women and seven men) earned All-America honors at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
  • Last season, the Fighting Irish won their first ACC Women’s Cross Country Championship in school history.
  • Wake Forest won their sixth ACC Men’s Cross Country Championship in 2024.
