2025 NCAA Championship Bracket
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame advanced through the first round of the 2025 Division I NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship on Thursday, November 20. Seven Atlantic Coast Conference teams will compete in the second round on Sunday, November 23, marking the most teams of any conference.
Duke advanced past FDU, 1-0, in Durham, North Carolina, with Ulfur Bjornsson scoring via a penalty kick in the 88th minute. The Blue Devils advance to play at No. 3 seed Princeton on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
Notre Dame went on the road and ousted Michigan, 1-0, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as goalkeeper Blake Kelly made eight saves. The Fighting Irish head to No. 14 seed Akron on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET match in the second round.
North Carolina played North Florida to a 2-2 draw in a thriller, before the Tar Heels advanced via penalty kicks, winning the shootout, 6-5. UNC travels to No. 4 seed Maryland on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
Duke, UNC and Notre Dame join No. 2 seed Virginia, No. 5 seed SMU, No. 12 seed Stanford and No. 15 seed NC State as the ACC’s contingent in the second round.
Clemson and Syracuse saw their seasons come to an end Thursday. The Tigers fell to Western Michigan, 1-0, while Syracuse dropped a 2-0 contest to Hofstra.
All second-round action will take place Sunday. The third round will be played November 29 and 30, while the quarterfinals will be played December 5 and 6.
ESPNU will provide live coverage of all three games of the NCAA Men's College Cup with the semifinals and final on December 12 and 15 at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, as the event returns to Cary for the 10th time.
An ACC team has won the men’s national soccer championship 20 times – most of any conference – including three of the last four seasons with Clemson in 2021 and 2023 and Syracuse in 2022. At least one ACC squad has reached the College Cup in 22 of the last 24 seasons, with 11 different league programs reaching the sport’s highest stage.
