Cal’s Passola Folch, UNC’s Brantmeier & NC State’s Duo of Osuigwe and Broadfoot Reach Semifinals of 2025 NCAA Women’s Tennis Individual Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Four ACC women’s tennis student-athletes – Berta Passola Folch (California) and Reese Brantmeier (North Carolina) in singles play and the team of Victoria Osuigwe and Gabriella Broadfoot (NC State) in doubles action – advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Individual Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
 
The semifinals of the singles championship are slated for Saturday, November 22, and the championship match is set for Sunday, November 23.
 
This is the second year of a two-year plan for the singles and doubles championships to be conducted in the fall, with the team championships continuing to be held in the spring.
 
Berta Passola Folch, California
  • Defeated Mayu Crossley (UCLA) 6-1, 6-1 in the Round of 64
  • Beat Mia Kupres (Texas A&M) 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 32
  • Beat Gabriella Broadfoot (NC State) 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 16
  • Defeated Kyoka Kubu (Kansas) 7-5, 6-2 in the Quarterfinals
 
Reese Brantmeier, North Carolina
  • Defeated Bridget Stammel (Vanderbilt) 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 in the Round of 64
  • Beat Sophie Llewellyn (SMU) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in the Round of 32
  • Beat Ava Esposito (Auburn) 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in the Round of 16
  • Upset No. 2 seeded Carmen Andreea Herea (Texas) 7-6 (8), 6-0 in the Quarterfinals
 
Victoria Osuigwe & Gabriella Broadfoot, NC State
  • Beat Daria Smetannikov and Mia Kupres (Texas A&M) 6-2, 6-2 in the Round of 32
  • Beat Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang (Virginia) 6-4, 6-4 in the Round of 16
  • Upset No. 3 seeded Ange Oby Kajuru and Susanna Maltby (North Carolina) 5-7, 6-1, 12-10 in the Quarterfinals
 
The ACC women’s tennis players earned 14 ITA All-American honors in either singles or doubles at the 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The complete list of All-American student-athletes will be announced at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season when all criteria have been exhausted.
 
The criteria for earning ITA All-America Singles honors include:
  • ITA All-American Singles Champion
  • Advancing to the Round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships (November)
  • Finishing in the Top 20 of the Final ITA Singles Rankings (May)

The criteria for earning ITA All-America Doubles honors include:
  • ITA All-American Doubles Champion
  • Advancing to the Quarterfinals at the NCAA Doubles Championships (November)
  • Finishing in the Top 10 of the Final ITA Doubles Rankings (May)
