CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With the third round of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship wrapping up on Monday, November 24, three Atlantic Coast Conference teams advanced to the quarterfinals. The three teams are the tied for the most among all conferences.
Top-seeded Stanford, second-seeded Duke and third-seeded Florida State all punched their tickets to the quarterfinals and are now one win away from advancing to the Women’s College Cup. Quarterfinal action is set to begin on Friday, November 28.
For the 11th time out of the last 15 years, Duke secured a spot in the quarterfinals following its 2-0 victory over third-seeded Kansas on Sunday afternoon on Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium. Mia Minestrella continued her scoring streak, tallying the eventual game-winning goal in the 37th minute. She has now scored in all three of Duke’s NCAA Tournament matches and leads the tournament with five goals. The Blue Devils will host fourth-seeded Washington in their quarterfinal matchup on Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
After knocking off second-seeded Georgetown, 3-1, on the road Sunday, Florida State has now reached the quarterfinals in 19 of its 26 all-time NCAA appearances. Three different Seminoles found the back of the net, with Mimi Van Zanten recording a goal and an assist in the victory. FSU welcomes Ohio State for its quarterfinal clash on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
Stanford jumped out to a hot start against fifth-seeded BYU on Monday, scoring three goals in the first 19 minutes en route to a 6-0 win. Jasmine Aikey and Eleanor Klinger each scored twice, as the Cardinal have totaled 16 goals through their three NCAA Tournament contests. Stanford, which advances to the quarterfinals for the 13th time since 2008, will host second-seeded Michigan State on Friday.
The 44th edition of the Women’s College Cup will be played December 5 and 8 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, with the University of Kansas and Kansas City Sports Commission serving as hosts. The first national semifinal will be played and broadcast live on ESPNU at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, December 5, followed by the second semifinal beginning at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET, also live on ESPNU. The national championship match will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, December 8, and will air live on ESPNU.
