CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Stanford senior third baseman Trevor Haskins was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, while Wake Forest junior right-handed pitcher Logan Lunceford and Georgia Tech senior right-handed pitcher Mason were tabbed Co-ACC Pitchers of the Week for games played February 17-23.
Haskins led Stanford to a 4-0 week, batting .389 (7-for-18) with five runs scored, two doubles, three homers and 11 runs batted in. The San Jose, California, native hit safely in all four games for the Cardinal and has batted safely in all seven games this year as Stanford enters Monday’s series finale with Washington at 7-0. Haskins homered in each of the first three games against Washington over the weekend, including a go-ahead grand slam in Stanford’s 9-5 come-from-behind victory over the Huskies on Sunday. The third baseman also led off the bottom of the first with a homer in Friday's 2-0 shutout victory, before connecting for a go-ahead three-run home run on Saturday. He reached at a .368 clip last week while slugging 1.000 and had four RBIs in each of the the final two games on the weekend.
Patel dominated opposing batters all week, tossing 8.1 innings out of the bullpen with a 0.00 ERA, two hits, one walk and 11 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .074 average against him. Against Georgia Southern on Tuesday, he recorded 16 straight outs in what was his first appearance of the season. On Saturday against Marshall, Patel came in with runners on first and second and nobody out in the fifth inning, with Tech holding a 5-3 lead. The right-hander worked his way out of the jam without allowing any runners to score, holding Marshall off the board for the next two innings, allowing for the Jackets to take a commanding 10-3 lead into the eighth inning. Patel would get credit for his second win of the season, matching his win total from last season after only two appearances.
Lunceford allowed just one hit over 5.1 innings against St. John’s, punching out 13 of the 19 batters he faced for a new career high. The right-hander from Harrah, Oklahoma, had 21 swings and misses for the game. His 13 strikeouts are tied for the ninth-most in program history for a single game. Through two starts in 2025, Lunceford has allowed just two hits, while striking out 20 batters. The junior is holding opposing hitters to a .065 batting average.
