CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference softball season kicks off six straight days on the diamond beginning Tuesday, March 11, as Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Stanford and Virginia all hit the field for a midweek matchup.
After one week of conference play, North Carolina and Stanford lead the ACC with 3-0 league records, while Duke, Louisville, Stanford and Virginia Tech all have one loss a piece.
This week’s conference series include Boston College at Virginia, Virginia Tech at Louisville, Pitt at Florida State, Syracuse at Duke, North Carolina at Clemson, Notre Dame at NC State and Georgia Tech at California. Stanford will host California Baptist on Friday, March 14, and Nevada on Saturday and Sunday.
Five ACC teams were ranked in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25, led by No. 10 Florida State. Joining the Seminoles are Virginia Tech at No. 16, Duke at No. 17, Stanford at No. 20 and Virginia at No. 25. Clemson and California are receiving votes.

Softball Notes
- Clemson’s Maddie Moore was named the ACC Player of the Week, while Georgia Tech’s Sophia Voyles was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week honors following the fifth week of the 2025 softball season.
- The ACC leads the nation in the following individual stats across the NCAA:
- Triples – Kennedy Harp (Florida State), 8
- Shutouts – Makenna Raye Dark (North Carolina), 6
- Duke was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2025 ACC softball title by the league’s 15 head coaches and 14 student-athletes were named to the Preseason All-ACC team. (Release)
- Nine ACC softball players were named to the USA Softball Top 53 Watch List for the 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, USA Softball announced on Wednesday, January 22. Among the list are Florida State’s Julia Apsel, Jaysoni Beachum, Michaela Edenfield and Isa Torres, Duke’s Aminah Vega, Cassidy Curd and D’Auna Jennings, and Virginia Tech’s Emma Lemley and Bre Peck.
