CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With just three weeks remaining in the Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis regular season, all 16 teams will once again play two conference matches on Friday, March 28, and Sunday, March 30.
Sitting atop the ACC standings, Wake Forest and NC State are tied at 8-0 in conference play. Duke follows with a record of 7-1, while California and Clemson both stand at 6-2 as the weekend approaches.
Eight ACC teams were ranked in the top 25 in this week’s ITA Division I Men’s Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings (March 25), including five in the top 10, the most of any conference. Wake Forest leads the way at No. 1 and is followed by Virginia at No. 5, NC State at No. 6, Stanford at No. 9 and California at No. 10. Duke is ranked No. 13, Clemson came in at No. 22 and Miami is No. 25.
Six of the eight top-25 ranked teams are on the road this weekend. No. 1 Wake Forest will play at No. 22 Clemson (Friday) and No. 46 Georgia Tech (Sunday), No. 5 Virginia will play at No. 63 Notre Dame (Friday) and Louisville (Sunday) and No. 6 NC State will be on the road at No. 46 Georgia Tech (Friday) and No. 22 Clemson (Sunday). No. 9 Stanford and No. 10 California hit the road to take on No. 61 SMU and Boston College, while No. 25 Miami will play at No. 55 North Carolina (Friday) and No. 13 Duke (Sunday) over the weekend.

Noting ACC Men’s Tennis

- In this most recent ITA National Singles Rankings (March 18), the ACC had eight student-athletes in the top 25 for the third straight poll – Dhakshineswar Suresh of Wake Forest (No. 6), Carl Emil Overbeck of Cal (No. 9), Rafael Jódar of Virginia (No. 10), Samir Banerjee of Stanford (No. 11), Stefan Dostanic of Wake Forest (No. 12), Corey Craig of Florida State (No. 14), Dylan Dietrich of Virginia (No. 21) and Martine Borisiouk of NC State (No. 23). Braden Shick of NC State (No. 26) Sebastian Dominko of Notre Dame (No. 33) are both just outside the top 25.
- In the latest ITA National Doubles Rankings (March 18), the ACC had nine doubles teams ranked in the top 25, including four in the top 10 – Luciano Tacchi and Luca Pow of Wake Forest (No. 3), Stefan Dostanic and Dhakshineswar Suresh of Wake Forest (No. 5), Youcef Rihane and Alex Bulte of Florida State (No. 6), and Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambreek of NC State (No. 9). The others in the top 25 include Dhakshineswar Suresh and Andrew Delgado of Wake Forest (No. 12), Nate Bonetto and Gianluca Carlini of Georgia Tech (No. 20), Luca Staeheli and Jules Leroux of NC State (No. 23), Theo Dean and Carl Emil Overbeck of Cal (No. 24) and Cooper Williams and Theo Winegar of Duke (No. 25). The pair of James Hopper and Keegan Rice of Virginia (No. 28) and the tandem of Noa Vukadin and Max Smith of Clemson (No. 31) are both just outside of the top 25.
- Notre Dame’s Sebastian Dominko was tabbed the ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, Duke’s Cooper Williams and Andreja Petrovic were named the Doubles Team of the Week and California’s Bernardo Munk Mesa earned Freshman of the Week honors for matches played March 17-23.
- Wake Forest defeated No. 1 TCU, 4-3, on February 18 to win the 2025 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championship at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the campus of SMU in Dallas, Texas. It is the Demon Deacons’ first ITA National Team Indoor Championship title since 2018. With the win, Wake Forest became just the 13th team in the competition's history to win multiple titles.
- Six ACC student-athletes earned ITA All-American status in either singles or doubles at the 2024-25 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The complete list of All-American student-athletes will be announced at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season when all criteria have been exhausted.
- For the third consecutive year, the Atlantic Coast Conference and ACC Network have teamed up with Cracked Racquets to produce 14 CrossCourt Cast shows during ACC conference play. Cracked Racquets, a leader in tennis media, is committed to empowering the ACC tennis community by making the sport more connected, inclusive, and engaging through its broadcast and podcast coverage this season.
- The 2025 ACC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will be held on April 15-20 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
