Virginia and Stanford to Face Off in 2025 ACC Men’s Tennis Championship Title Match

CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – The two semifinal matches of the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship on Saturday, April 19, did not disappoint, as No. 5-seed Virginia handed No. 1-seed Wake Forest its first loss of the season, while first-year member No. 3-seed Stanford defeated No. 7-seed Duke for its first trip to the ACC Championship title match on Sunday, April 20, at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. The championship match will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra at 2 p.m. ET.

No. 6 nationally ranked Virginia (20-6, 9-4 ACC) reached its sixth consecutive ACC championship match appearance and is looking for its first ACC Championship since winning three straight from 2021-23. The Cavaliers are competing for their 16th ACC title overall and fourth under current head coach Andres Pedroso.

No. 8 nationally ranked Stanford (21-5, 10-3 ACC) has reached the championship match in the program’s first year in the ACC. The Cardinal, which won a share of the Pac-12 regular season championship last year in 2024, never won the Pac-12 Men’s Tennis Tournament, which was held from 2012 to 2024.

Sunday marks the 21st appearance for the Cavaliers in the ACC championship match compared to just the first for the Cardinal.

During the regular season, Virginia defeated Stanford, 4-2, in Charlottesville, Virginia, on March 23. The two teams were both ranked in the top 10 at the time – ironically, Virginia at No. 6 and Stanford at No. 8.

Virginia fell behind 1-0 early to No. 1-seed Wake Forest (34-1, 13-0 ACC) following the doubles point before winning three of the first four singles contests to take a 3-2 lead with two matches remaining. After Wake Forest tied the match up at 3-3 with a win on court two, Virginia’s Mans Dahlberg held on for a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win on court six to send the Cavaliers to the championship match with a 4-3 victory over the Demon Deacons.

Like Virginia, Stanford lost the doubles point and the first singles match to trail 2-0 to No. 7-seed Duke (18-8, 9-4 ACC) before winning four straight singles matches on courts four, five, six and three to record the 4-2 triumph over the Blue Devils.

Tickets are priced at $15 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $10 for children ages 17 and under and non-ACC college students with a valid school ID. Admission is free for children 8 and under and ACC college students with a school ID. A full championship pass for all six days is priced at $30.

All seating for the tournament is General Admission.
