Wake Forest to Play for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship Title on Sunday

WACO, Texas (theACC.com) – No. 1-seed Wake Forest (39-1), the 2025 ACC Regular Season Champions, defeated No. 4-seed Stanford (26-6), the 2025 ACC Champions, 4-2, on Saturday, May 17, in the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship indoors at the Hawkins Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

The Demon Deacons advance to Sunday’s championship match, where they will face the defending NCAA National Champions and No. 2-seed TCU. The final is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, at 8 p.m. ET and will stream live on ESPN+. Live results will be available on IOnCourt.

Wake Forest defeated then-No. 1 TCU, 4-3, in the 2025 ITA National Indoor Tennis Championship finals back on February 18.

This marks the ACC's first appearance in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship final since Virginia in 2023, and the conference's 11th finals appearance in the last 14 years (excluding 2020, when the event was canceled due to COVID-19).

Wake Forest returns to the finals for the first time since 2019 and the third time in program history. The Demon Deacons won the national title in 2018 and were runners-up in 2019.

The victory also adds to Wake Forest’s historic season, extending its program record to 39 wins and tying the all-time ACC single-season win record set by Virginia in 2010.

Wake Forest took a 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The Demon Deacons extended their lead to 3-0 with singles wins on courts six and five. Stanford responded with wins on courts four and three, closing the gap to 3-2. The match was clinched with Wake Forest’s three-set victory on court two.

Stanford’s impressive first season in the ACC comes to a close with a conference title, a program-record 26 wins, and its first NCAA Semifinals appearance since 2003.
