Ten ACC Boats Advance to AB Semifinals at 2025 NCAA Rowing Championships

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (theACC.com) – A total of 10 boats from the Atlantic Coast Conference advanced to the AB semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Rowing Championships at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.

California and Stanford saw all three of their boats qualify for the AB semifinals, while Syracuse and Virginia each had two of their three boats advance. Stanford headlined the day winning all three of its heats, capped off by the Varsity Four being the only V4 boat to cross the line in under seven seconds (6:58.521).

Saturday’s semifinal racing will determine the finals. The top three crews from each AB semifinal will advance to the Grand Final, while the remaining crews will move to the Petite Final. The top three crews from each CD semifinals will advance to the C Final, with the remainder heading to the D Final.

The NCAA team champion is determined by total points earned across all three boat categories. The First Varsity Eight winner earns 66 points, with each subsequent boat earning three fewer (63 for second, 60 for third, etc.). The Second Varsity Eight winner receives 44 points, decreasing by two per position. The Varsity Four winner earns 22 points, with each following team earning one point fewer. In the event of a tie, the higher placing First Varsity Eight breaks the tie.
