BRIGHTON, Mass. (theACC.com) - No. 4-seed Duke defeated No. 5-seed Stanford, 7-0, on Thursday, May 8, in game six of the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Championship at the Harrington Athletics Village in Brighton, Massachusetts.
Duke scored early in the bottom of the first, beginning with a single from Kairi Rodriguez, plating Thessa Malau’ulu. In the third, KK Mathis doubled to left center to score Aminah Vega. The scoring spree continued in the bottom of the fifth when Rodriguez knocked a 3-run home run to put the Blue Devils up 5-0. Duke scored two more runs off the bat of Malau’ulu in the bottom of the sixth inning, as she doubled to left center to score both D’Auna Jennings and Brooklin Thomas.
Dani Drogemuller threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits.
The Blue Devils advanced to the semifinals to take on No. 1-seed Florida State on Friday, May 9, at 12:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
