CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Pitt senior right side hitter Olivia Babcock was named the Honda Sport Award winner for Volleyball for the second straight season, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) announced on Wednesday.
This marks the 50th year the Honda Sport Award has been in existence and is presented annually by the CWSA to the top female athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports and signifies "the best of the best in collegiate athletics".
Prior to being named the recipient for the Honda Sport Award for Volleyball, Babcock was named the AVCA East Coast Region Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year and the AVCA Division I Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
After leading the Panthers to their fifth straight national semifinal, the three-time AVCA First-Team All-American concluded the 2025 season posting a .334 hitting percentage, with 646 kills and an average of 5.168 kills per set in 125 sets played. On the defensive end, Babcock recorded 261 digs and 126.0 total blocks. Her season was highlighted on November 2 at North Carolina, when she broke the program’s single-match kills record with 45 kills, surpassing her own previous mark of 41.
The CWSA has honored the nation's top NCAA women athletes for their superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service. Since commencing its partnership in 1986, Honda has provided more than $3.4 million in institutional grants to the universities of the award winners and nominees to support women's athletics programs.
