CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Indoor track & field action will continue throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference over a three-day stretch between Thursday, January 22, and Saturday, January 24.
Due to the impending winter weather, the Orange & Purple Invitational, hosted by Clemson, has been moved up to begin with the men’s weight throw at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday. The remainder of the meet will take place in its entirety on Friday, January 23. The Tigers will host Florida State, Georgia Tech and Syracuse in Clemson, South Carolina, with Friday’s portion of the meet streaming on ACC Network Extra.
Virginia Tech will host the Hokie Invitational, beginning Friday, in Blacksburg, Virginia. Also making the trip to Blacksburg will be fellow ACC members North Carolina and Virginia. The Hokies will also send athletes to the Red Raider Invite in Lubbock, Texas.
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a trio of ACC programs will compete in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invite. California, SMU and Stanford will each compete in the two-day event, hosted by New Mexico.
Louisville will compete in a pair of meets, including the Crossroads of America Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. Notre Dame will host the Notre Dame Invite on Saturday, while NC State heads to Lynchburg, Virginia, for the Liberty Open on Friday.

- Louisville’s Ashley Callahan posted the nation’s top mark in the pole vault (4.48m/14-8.25) last weekend at the Bellarmine Open.
- Virginia’s Gary Martin broke the ACC record in the men’s 5,000-meter run in his season-opening performance. His time of 13:05.57 is the sixth-fastest in NCAA history.
- Thirteen women’s student-athletes rank in the top five nationally for their respective events, according to TFRRS.
- Eight men’s student-athletes rank in the top five nationally for their respective events, according to TFRRS.
