ACC Announces Men's Tennis Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the third set of weekly honors for the 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis season, the Notre Dame duo of Luis Llorens Saracho and Peter Nad was named the ACC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week. Additionally, Clemson’s Viktor Markov was named the ACC Men’s Player of the Week, while Wake Forest’s Mees Rottgering was named the ACC Men’s Freshman of the Week.
 
ACC MEN’S DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
Luis Llorens Saracho, Notre Dame, So. (Madrid, Spain)
Peter Nad, Notre Dame, So. (Košice, Slovakia)
  • Won two doubles matches over ranked opponents to help lead Notre Dame to wins over Western Michigan and Louisville.
    • Defeated the Western Michigan duo of No. 80 Alex Antonopoulos and Oscar Corwin, 6-3.
    • Defeated the Louisville duo of No. 21 Matei Onofrei and Andre’ Steinbach, 6-2.
ACC MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Viktor Markov, Clemson, So. (Sofia, Bulgaria)
  • Helped lead Clemson to victories over No. 14 South Carolina and Harvard to punch its ticket to the ITA Indoor National Championships for the first time since 1990.
    • Defeated No. 80 Lucas Da Silva of South Carolina, 6-1, 7-6 (5).
    • Defeated No. 109 Benjamin Privara of Harvard, 6-4, 6-1.
    • Helped defeat the South Carolina duo of No. 31 Sean Daryabeigi and Max Stenzer, 6-3.
    • Helped defeat the Harvard duo of Masato Perera and Elisha Thornton, 6-3.
 
ACC MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Mees Rottgering, Wake Forest, Fr. (Wanssum, Netherlands)
  • Helped lead the Demon Deacons to wins over No. 4 Texas, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt to clinch its spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
    • Defeated No. 25 Sebastian Eriksson of Texas, 6-3, 7-6 (3)
    • Defeated Eyal Shumilov of Virginia Tech, 6-3, 6-1.
    • Defeated Jack Satterfield of Vanderbilt, 6-2, 6-2.
    • Helped defeat the Vanderbilt duo of Nathan Cox and Hugo Coquelin, 6-1.
