CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the first set of weekly honors for the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Softball season, Stanford’s Taryn Kern was named the ACC Player of the Week, while Florida State’s Jazzy Francik earned ACC Pitcher of the Week laurels. Additionally, Stanford’s Addyson Sheppard was named the ACC Freshman of the Week.
ACC Player of the Week
Taryn Kern, Stanford, Sr. (San Jose, California)
- Posted at least one hit and scored at least one run in each game of Stanford’s 5-0 run to begin the season.
- Went 4-for-5 (.800) in two wins over No. 20 Oklahoma State.
- Hit .733 on the week (11-for-15).
- Recorded nine runs, five RBIs, four doubles, a triple and a home run.
ACC Pitcher of the Week
Jazzy Francik, Florida State, So. (Rockledge, Florida)
- Threw a no-hitter on opening night to help the Seminoles kick off the season with a 2-0 win over Samford, marking just the second season-opening no-hitter in program history and the first since 1986.
- Recorded seven strikeouts in the circle.
- Totaled 65 strikes on 98 pitches.
- Threw her second career no-hitter.
- Threw a total of 13.0 innings in three games, allowing just 3 hits and no runs, while striking out 17.
ACC Freshman of the Week
Addyson Sheppard, Stanford, Fr. (Kingwood, Texas)
- Hit .462 in her collegiate debut weekend, going 6-for-13 over five games.
- Recorded five RBIs, two doubles and a home run.
- Drove in two runs in a pair of wins over No. 20 Oklahoma State.
