CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Stanford junior attacker Aliya Polisky earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Cardinal senior midfielder Rylee Bouvier garnered ACC Defensive Player of the Week laurels for games played from February 16-22.
Nine ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked among the top 25 teams in the latest IWLCA poll, the most among all conferences. North Carolina and Stanford top the poll again at No. 1 and 2, respectively, and are followed by No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 9 Clemson, No. 11 Boston College, No. 12 Syracuse, No. 21 Virginia, No. 23 Duke and No. 24 Pitt.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Aliya Polisky, Jr., A, Stanford (Franklin, Tennessee)
• Totaled 12 goals and eight assists as part of a 3-0 week for the Cardinal.
• Tied a career high with seven goals against Vanderbilt, which was the second-most goals in a game by a Cardinal in program history.
• Struck for two goals and two assists in the 8-6 win over No. 13 Syracuse.
• Earned a career-high six assists and also recorded a hat trick in Cardinal’s win over USC.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Rylee Bouvier, Sr., M, Stanford (Hollis, New Hampshire)
• Was dominant in a three-game swing for Stanford as the Cardinal went 3-0 with wins over Vanderbilt, No. 13 Syracuse and USC.
• Racked up nine caused turnovers, six draw controls and four ground balls during the week.
• Had four draw controls against both Vanderbilt and USC.
• Was a catalyst in helping Stanford limit all three teams to six or fewer goals.
