CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – The top four seeds proved victorious and advanced in Friday’s quarterfinals of the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship at Cary Tennis Park, as No. 1 seed Wake Forest, No. 2 seed Virginia, No. 3 seed Notre Dame and No. 4 seed Stanford each secured victories to move on to Saturday’s semifinal round.
No. 7 nationally ranked and top-seeded Wake Forest (28-3, 12-1 ACC) opened the day with a dominant 4-0 sweep of No. 45 Duke (15-13, 6-7 ACC). The Demon Deacons secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, then cruised in singles behind straight-set victories from DK Suresh Ekambaram, Mees Rottgering and Joaquin Guilleme to seal the shutout.
No. 17 Stanford (17-7, 9-4 ACC) followed with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over No. 60 Florida State (14-15, 3-10 ACC). After claiming the doubles point, the Cardinal got key singles wins from Samir Banerjee and Alex Chang, while Alexander Razeghi delivered the clincher in a three-set battle. Florida State countered with three singles victories to push the match to the final courts.
No. 4 Virginia (21-3, 12-1 ACC) rallied past No. 47 California (16-13, 6-7 ACC), 4-3, after dropping the doubles point. The Cavaliers responded with four singles wins, highlighted by Dylan Dietrich, Keegan Rice and Stiles Brockett, before Måns Dahlberg secured the decisive point with a three-set victory.
No. 24 Notre Dame (21-6, 9-4 ACC) also mounted a comeback, defeating No. 46 North Carolina (15-11, 6-7 ACC), 4-3. The Irish rebounded from a doubles loss with straight-set singles wins from Sebastian Dominko, Perry Gregg, Kyran Magimay and Luis Llorens Saracho to clinch the match.
Semifinal action is set for Saturday, April 18, with both matches beginning at 10 a.m. ET. On Bank 1, Wake Forest will face Stanford, while Bank 2 features Virginia against Notre Dame. The match between the Demon Deacons and Cardinal will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
