Virginia Wins 2026 ACC Men’s Golf Championship

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (theACC.com) – Second-seeded Virginia defeated top-seeded Stanford, 3-1, to earn its second straight conference title at the 2026 ACC Men’s Golf Championship Monday afternoon at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club at Watersound Club.

The Cavaliers, who claimed their first title in program history a season ago, became the first team to repeat as champions since Georgia Tech won back-to-back conference titles in 2018 and 2019. Head Coach Bowen Sargent became just the 10th coach in league history to win multiple ACC men’s golf titles.

Prior to the match play final, Virginia fended off third-seeded North Carolina in the semifinals. With the match tied at 2-2, Josh Duangmanee knocked in a long birdie putt on the 19th hole to defeat UNC’s Grant Roscich and send UVA to the title match. Stanford defeated fifth-seeded Florida State, 3-2, in its semifinal match.

Riding the momentum, Virginia picked up two straight victories to open the match play final, beginning with Ben James, who tallied a 6&5 win over Jay Leng. James carded five birdies in his round, avenging his semifinal loss. UVA’s Bryan Lee earned the Cavaliers’ second point, defeating Stanford’s Ethan Gao 4&3.

After Stanford’s Edan Cui, who tied for medalist honors during stroke play, won his match over Virginia’s Michael Lee, 1UP, UVA’s Paul Chang clinched the title with a 3&2 victory over Stanford’s Dean Greyserman. With the win, Chang went a perfect 3-0 in match play.

Virginia and the rest of the ACC now await the selection show for the 2026 NCAA Regionals set for Wednesday, May 6, at 2 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.
