This Week in ACC Outdoor Track & Field

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships less than two weeks away, many teams are making their final regular-season preparations this weekend.
 
Three ACC squads will head to Lexington, Kentucky, for the Jim Green Invitational. Louisville, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will compete at the University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex beginning on Friday, May 1. Three more teams – Pitt, Syracuse and Virginia – will also kick off competition on Friday at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey.
 
Stanford will host the Payton Jordan Invitational, beginning Friday. The Cardinal will be joined by California and SMU. Named after the longtime Stanford head coach, the Payton Jordan is scheduled to begin with field events at 6 p.m. ET, with distance races slated to get underway at 8:45 p.m ET.
 
SMU will welcome teams to Dallas, Texas, for the SMU Invitational, which kicks off at 5 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon with the men’s hammer throw, men’s long jump and men’s high jump. Running events are slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET with the women’s 400-meter hurdles.
 
Notre Dame will travel to Champaign, Illinois, for the Gary Wieneke Memorial Invite, while Virginia Tech will stay in state for The Hill City Twilight in Lynchburg. NC State will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina, for the North Carolina A&T Aggie Classic, beginning Friday, while Miami and Syracuse will descend upon Jacksonville, Florida, for the UNF East Coast Relays.
 
On Saturday, May 2, Florida State will make the trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the LSU Invitational, while Georgia Tech travels to Athens, Georgia, for the Torrin Lawrence Memorial.
 
On Sunday, May 3, Durham, North Carolina, will play host to the Duke Twilight. The Blue Devils will be joined by Boston College, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest as the teams compete in the one-day meet, which is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET.
