CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Headlined by three regional champions, seven Atlantic Coast Conference women’s golf teams punched their tickets to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships on the final day of regional play on Wednesday. The seven teams broke the conference record of six teams set in both 2023 and 2024.
As the only conference to capture multiple regionals, ACC schools won three of the six regional titles this week, as Stanford, SMU and Wake Forest each claimed victories at their respective sites. Also qualifying were Duke, Florida State, North Carolina and Virginia, with each team finishing in the top five of their respective regional.
Stanford won the Stanford Regional in record fashion, finishing 42-under, 38 shots ahead of second-place Pepperdine. Cardinal standout Andrea Revuelta (201, -12) won the individual title, leading the Stanford lineup that placed all five players in the top seven of the 60-player field. Stanford’s three days were highlighted by a second-round team score of 267 (-17), the lowest score in a regional in program history. The Cardinal’s third-round score was one stroke shy of that mark.
SMU (823, -17) led wire-to-wire in the Waco Regional, outlasting second-place Texas A&M by six shots. Leading the Mustangs were Kirra St. Laurent and Celine Chen, who tied for third in the final individual standings at 5-under 205. SMU will make its first appearance in the NCAA Championships as an ACC member.
Wake Forest climbed two spots on Wednesday to capture the Tallahassee Regional after firing a 10-under (278) third round to finish 8-under-par (856) for the tournament. Morgan Ketchum and fellow ACC standout Sophia Fullbrook of Florida State shared medalist honors, tying at 7-under (209). Wake’s Chloe Kovelesky closely followed, tying for third at 6-under.
Led by Fullbrook, Florida State finished as the runner-up in the Tallahassee Regional, trailing the Demon Deacons by four shots. Joining Fullbrook in the top 10 was Alexandra Gazzoli, who tied for seventh at 3-under (213).
North Carolina finished second in the Chapel Hill Regional to seal its spot in California. The Tar Heels saw two players in the top 15, with Marie Prats-Rigual tying for 10th, while Megan Streicher finished alone in 15th.
Duke placed third in the Ann Arbor Regional, sealing its spot in the NCAA Championships for the 35th time. Rianee Malixi (213, E), the 2026 ACC Freshman of the Year, was the lone Blue Devil to finish in the top 10, in seventh place.
Virginia punched its ticket in dramatic fashion, earning the bid through a three-team playoff for the final two spots from the Chapel Hill Regional. Tying fellow ACC member NC State and Michigan State for fourth in the final team standings, the Cavaliers and Spartans won the tiebreak and advanced to the NCAA Championship.
The 2026 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship is set for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. The 30-team field will play 54 holes before the field being cut to 15 teams for the final round of stroke play. The top eight teams will advance to match play. The Golf Channel will broadcast the final three days of the NCAA Championship.
Last season, four ACC teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, with Stanford, Florida State and Virginia all earning a spot in the match play quarterfinals. The Cardinal advanced to the national championship match but fell to Northwestern, 3-2.
