North Carolina Claims 23rd ACC Women’s Soccer Regular Season Title

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (theACC.com) – Third-ranked North Carolina claimed its second consecutive and 23rd overall Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer regular-season title thanks to a 2-0 win against No. 25 Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.

With an 8-0-1 record in conference matches, the Tar Heels’ have accumulated 25 points, four more than the next-closest team, to clinch the regular-season crown.

The top-eight teams from the conference qualify for the ACC Championship with the quarterfinals at campus sites Nov. 3. The semifinals and final will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., on Friday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 10, respectively.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will air live on ACC Network, while the final will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
