CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Entering the week with a nation-best nine ranked teams, conference play continues inside Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer headlined by three ranked matchups beginning on Thursday, October 17.
With just 15 days left until the bracket for the 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship is announced, eight teams hold 10 points or more in the standings, as the top six will qualify for the ACC Championship. Duke and North Carolina are tied atop the league standings with 18 points apiece, while Virginia Tech sits alone in third with 16 points.
Six conference contests are scheduled for Thursday, highlighted by a pair of ranked matchups, as No. 23 Virginia visits No. 22 Florida State on ACC Network Extra, while on ESPNU, No. 25 California heads to No. 12 Notre Dame. All six of Thursday’s matches are slated for 7 p.m. ET.
On Saturday, October 19, the top two teams in the nation are in action when No. 1 Duke plays host to Boston College at 5 p.m. ET and No. 2 Wake Forest heads to SMU at 7 p.m. ET. Both matches will be ACCNX.
Sunday’s schedule features four matches, as ACCN will feature a women’s soccer doubleheader beginning at noon ET when No. 25 California visits Louisville. The second match features No. 6 Stanford at No. 12 Notre Dame at 2 p.m. ET for a key conference contest.

Noting ACC Women’s Soccer
• The ACC closed the book on the non-conference portion of the regular season, finishing with a nation-best 93 victories and .792 winning percentage. The league finished with a 15-9-5 (.603) record against peer Power-4 conferences and posted five victories over Top 25 opponents.
• For the second straight week, the ACC placed a nation-best nine teams in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll. The league has the top two teams in this week's poll as Duke remained at No. 1 for the second straight week and Wake Forest jumped a spot to No. 2. North Carolina is No. 4, Stanford is No. 6, Notre Dame is No. 12, Virginia Tech is No. 18, Florida State is No. 22, Virginia is No. 23 and California is No. 25.
• A nation-best eight ACC teams are in the top 25 of the latest RPI rankings, headlined by six teams in the top 15. North Carolina (No. 1) and Duke (No. 2) lead the way, while Wake Forest (No. 5), Stanford (No. 6), Florida State (No. 11) and Virginia (No. 14) closely follow. Pitt is No. 18 and Notre Dame is No. 25.
• Duke graduate midfielder Maggie Graham was selected the ACC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Louisville junior goalkeeper Erynn Floyd was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played October 7-13.
• Graham and Floyd were also named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week on Tuesday, as Graham earned National Player of the Week honors.
• Three ACC players rank in the top 15 nationally in total goals, as California's Karlie Lema is third with 14 goals, while Notre Dame's Izzy Engle and North Carolina's Kate Faasse are tied for 14th with 10 goals apiece.
• Pitt's Sarah Schupansky leads the nation with 15 assists and a 1.07 assists per match average. Schupansky has posted 105 points (30 goals, 43 assists) for her career, the fifth-highest total among active Division I players.
• Following Schupansky, two ACC players are in the top 10 in total assists, as Duke's Devin Lynch and Notre Dame's Grace Restovich are tied for seventh with eight assists apiece.
• Three of the top 10 scoring offenses nationally are in the ACC, as Duke leads the conference and ranks third in the country with 3.17 goals per match. Florida State follows in fourth with 3.08 goals per contest, while Pitt ranks 10th at 2.64. The Blue Devils have scored a conference-best 38 goals this season, the eighth-most nationally.
