CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – As the regular season continues to wind down inside Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer, key league matchups are on the schedule that will help determine the final pairings for the upcoming 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship beginning on Sunday, November 3.
With Duke and North Carolina tied atop the ACC standings with 21 points apiece, five teams hold 15 points or more including a four-way tie for third place with 16 points apiece. Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Stanford are deadlocked with the regular season concluding on Thursday, October 31. The bracket for the 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship will be announced that evening.
The offenses came alive last week in the ACC, as 45 goals were scored in the 12 conference matches. Nine ACC teams have scored over 30 goals this season, while Florida State (48) and Duke (45) are two of just 12 teams nationally with 40 or more goals on the year.

Noting ACC Women’s Soccer
• The ACC closed the book on the non-conference portion of the regular season, finishing with a nation-best 93 victories and .792 winning percentage. The league finished with a 15-9-5 (.603) record against peer Power-4 conferences and posted five victories over Top 25 opponents.
• A nation-best eight ACC teams are in the top 25 of the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, headlined by six teams in the top 15. Duke and Wake Forest hold the top two spots, respectively, while North Carolina is No. 4. Notre Dame climbed to No. 7, Stanford is No. 12, Florida State is No. 17, Virginia Tech is No. 19 and Virginia is No. 24.
• In the latest RPI, five ACC teams are in the top 10 with North Carolina holding the No. 1 spot. Following the Tar Heels are Duke (3), Wake Forest (4), Florida State (6) and Stanford (9). Notre Dame (12) and Virginia (13) are also in the top 25, while Virginia Tech is just outside at No. 26.
• Notre Dame freshman forward Ellie Hodsden was selected the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, while Miami sophomore defender Emilie McCartney and Fighting Irish junior midfielder Leah Klenke were named ACC Co-Defensive Players of the Week for matches played from October 14-20.
• Hodsden and Duke's Mia Oliaro were named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week on Tuesday.
• Three ACC players rank in the top 15 nationally in total goals, as California's Karlie Lema is tied for third with 15 goals, while Notre Dame's Izzy Engle and North Carolina's Kate Faasse are tied for 13th with 11 goals apiece. With 11 goals, Engle currently leads the nation's freshmen.
• Pitt's Sarah Schupansky leads the nation with 15 assists and a 0.94 assists per match average. Schupansky has posted 105 points (30 goals, 43 assists) for her career, the seventh-highest total among active Division I players.
• Following Schupansky, two ACC players are in the top 10 in total assists, as the Duke tandem of Ella Hase and Mia Oliaro tie for fifth with nine assists on the season.
• Three of the top 10 scoring offenses nationally are in the ACC, as Duke leads the conference and ranks second in the country with 3.46 goals per match. Florida State follows in third with 3.43 goals per contest, while Notre Dame ranks seventh at 2.71. FSU has scored a conference-best 48 goals this season, which ranks third nationally. Duke follows with 45 goals, tying for seventh-most in the country.
