This Week in ACC Wrestling

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – All seven Atlantic Coast Conference wrestling programs are in action this week, highlighted by No. 7 NC State and No. 10 Virginia Tech competing on the national stage at the inaugural National Duals Invitational, presented by Paycom, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 15–16.
 
The historic event will feature 16 of the nation’s premier wrestling programs and award more than $1 million in total prize money, including $200,000 to the winning team. Second and third place will earn $150,000 each, and prize money will be distributed through eighth place, with all participating programs receiving $20,000.
 
Beyond the action in Tulsa, several ACC programs will take the mat in dual competition this weekend. No. 19 Pitt opens its home slate with a Friday night matchup against Princeton at 7 p.m. ET, while No. 21 North Carolina returns to Chapel Hill to host Navy on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
 
Virginia hits the road for a Saturday afternoon dual at Kent State (2 p.m. ET), and No. 23 Stanford travels to face California Baptist later that evening at 6 p.m. ET. Duke will also see a full day of competition, heading north for a Saturday tri-match at Morgan State (Noon ET) and Drexel (2 p.m. ET).
 
 
Noting ACC Wrestling
  • The ACC has five teams ranked in the top 25 of the NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll (Nov. 11): NC State (No. 7), Virginia Tech (No. 10), Pitt (No. 19), North Carolina (No. 21) and Stanford (No. 23).
  • 44 ACC wrestlers are ranked in the latest InterMat Individual Rankings (Nov. 11), landing in the top 33 of their respective weight classes. Five different weight classes feature five or more ranked ACC athletes, including 125 (5), 133 (6), 141 (5), 174 (7), and 285 (6).
  • The ACC has opened the 2025-26 dual season on a strong note, combining to go 8-4 over the first two weeks of the season. Pitt (2-0), North Carolina (1-0), NC State (1-0) and Virginia Tech (1-0) are all undefeated heading into the third weekend of action this week, while Duke (2-1) has scored two dual match wins to start the year.
  • The 2026 ACC Wrestling Championship heads to Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia, on Sunday, March 8, 2026, marking Virginia Tech’s first time hosting since 2019.
  • The 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championships will be held at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, from March 19–21, 2026.
