CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Seventeen Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball student-athletes earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America honors, announced on December 17. The AVCA recognized 99 Division I student-athletes as All-Americans, divided into first, second, third and honorable mention teams.
Seven of the ACC’s 18 teams had at least one player named to the All-America teams, headlined by SMU with four, and Louisville, Pitt and Stanford each with three.
The ACC had four first-team selections in Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon, Pitt’s Olivia Babcock, SMU’s Malaya Jones and Stanford’s Elia Rubin. All eight AVCA first, second and third-team All-America selections were named to the 2025 All-ACC first team, headlined by Babcock, who was named the 2025 ACC Player of the Year and Averi Carlson, who was named the 2025 ACC Setter of the Year. AVCA Honorable Mention All-American and 2025 ACC Defensive Player of the Year Bre Kelley was also named to the 2025 All-ACC first team along with Louisville’s Nayelis Cabello and Chloe Chicoine, Notre Dame’s Morgan Gaerte and Miami’s Ariana Rodriguez.
Three of the 17 ACC All-America selections will be fighting for a spot in the 2025 NCAA Volleyball National Championship title game, as Pitt takes on Texas A&M in the Panthers’ fifth-straight national semifinal appearance on Thursday, December 18. First serve on ESPN is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
