BC, UNC Earn Semifinal Wins in 2025 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The top two teams in the nation will square off in the championship game of the 2025 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship, as top-ranked North Carolina and second-ranked Boston College rolled to semifinal wins on Friday, April 25, at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
 
The tournament’s No. 1 seed, North Carolina remained undefeated as it knocked off No. 5 seed Clemson, 17-7, on Friday, while No. 2 seed Boston College downed No. 3 seed Stanford, 16-9.
 
The championship game will be played on Sunday, April 27, at noon ET, with ACC Network’s coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET. UNC is seeking its eighth ACC Championship, while Boston College is aiming for its third after winning back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
 
BC and UNC played on April 5 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with UNC rallying from an early 4-0 deficit to down the Eagles, 12-11. This marks the 12th matchup of the nation’s No. 1 and 2 teams since women’s lacrosse became an official ACC sport offering in 1997, with the last four coming between Boston College and North Carolina (UNC is 3-0 in the previous three No. 1 vs. No. 2 games with BC).
 
All-Session ticket books for the ACC Championships in both men’s and women’s lacrosse are available for $50 and can be purchased HERE. All-Session passes are good for all 10 games in the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship as well as the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held May 2 and 4 in Charlotte. 
 
Individual Session tickets for the ACC Championship are available online HERE. One ticket gains admission for all of the games on that respective day. Anyone 5 years and older requires a ticket for entry. All tickets are General Admission.

No. 1 North Carolina 17, No. 5 Clemson 7
Chloe Humphrey scored three goals and added three assists, while her sister, Ashley added a goal and five assists as North Carolina (17-0) advanced to the championship game for the 17th time in program history. Marissa White also recorded a hat trick for the Tar Heels, while Betty Nelson made nine saves. Natalie Shurtleff had a hand in five of the seven goals for Clemson (13-6), recording a hat trick as well as two assists.
 
No. 2 Boston College 16, No. 3 Stanford 9
Emma LoPinto scored six goals and added an assist as the Eagles (17-1) pulled away to defeat Stanford (14-5). Rachel Clark added four goals for BC and now has 10 in the tournament. Shea Dolce made nine saves for BC. Ava Arceri scored four goals for Stanford. The Cardinal pulled within three at 11-8 on Arceri’s goal with 3:52 left in the third quarter, but BC scored five of the game’s final six goals to seal its fourth straight berth in the ACC title game.
