CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – A total of 10 of the ACC’s 16 baseball programs will play conference games between Thursday, May 1, and Sunday, May 4.
The weekend’s action is highlighted by No. 3 Clemson traveling to Tallahassee, Florida for a three-game set against No. 5 Florida State. The Seminoles and Tigers both rank in the top five of the ACC standings with the weekend series shaping up to be critical for seeding at the 2025 ACC Baseball Championship in Durham, North Carolina, between May 20-25, 2025. The Saturday, May 3, game between Clemson and Florida State will be televised on ACC Network, beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
No. 13 NC State will head to Coral Gables, Florida, to square off with Miami in a battle of red-hot teams. The Wolfpack enters the week atop the ACC standings at 15-6 in conference play, winning 11 of its last 13 games. Miami has also won 11 of its last 13 games, including ACC sweeps of Georgia Tech and Boston College.
In Thursday night ACC action, No. 17 Louisville will square off with Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on ACC Network. Notre Dame has worked its way into the NCAA Tournament picture after winning eight straight games, including ACC sweeps of California and Stanford, before dropping a midweek contest on Tuesday, April 29.
In non-conference action, Georgia Tech will host Western Carolina for a three-game series, beginning at 6 p.m. ET on Friday. Wake Forest will face Gardner-Webb in a Sunday doubleheader, beginning at 1 p.m. ET, while Duke will square off with Radford for a Sunday twin bill, also beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

- Georgia Tech’s Danny Hall announced his plans to retire following the 2025 season ahead of the Jackets’ series vs. Clemson. Hall has logged 1,441 career victories, which ranks 10th in Division I history.
- Entering the weekend, NC State (1), Florida State (2), North Carolina (3) and Georgia Tech (4) would earn double-byes in the 2025 ACC Baseball Championship as the top-four seeds. The ACC Championship moves to a 16-team, single-elimination format for the 2025 season.
- As of May 1, 12 of the ACC’s 16 teams rank inside the top 50 of RPI, including three teams in the top 10. Florida State leads the ACC at No. 7 in the RPI rankings, followed by No. 8 Clemson and No. 9 North Carolina.
- Entering the weekend, 13 ACC teams rank inside the top 50 of the Diamond Sports Rankings, including six teams in the top 25. Clemson leads the ACC at No. 6 in the DSR rankings, followed by No. 8 North Carolina, No. 12 Florida State, No. 17 NC State, No. 19 Duke and No. 21 Louisville.
- Five ACC teams are ranked in the D1Baseball Top 25, including three teams in the top five. Clemson leads the way at No. 3, followed by No. 4 North Carolina, No. 5 Florida State, No. 13 NC State and No. 17 Louisville.
- 10 of the ACC programs were included in this week’s D1Baseball Field of 64 projections, including Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina and NC State, who were projected regional hosts. Georgia Tech, Louisville and Wake Forest were slotted as No. 2 seeds, while Duke, Miami and Virginia Tech earned a projected No. 3 seed. Notre Dame was listed as one of the “5 Teams to Watch”, while Virginia was in the “First Four Out”.
- The ACC had 12 played named to the 45-man Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, which ranks second among all conferences. Florida State and Wake Forest led the league with three honorees each.
- Nine ACC shortstops were named to the Brooks Wallace Award Midseason Watch List, which ranks second among all conferences.
- D1Baseball named 10 ACC standouts to its midseason All-America teams, including eight on the first team. Florida State’s Alex Lodise was also named Midseason National Player of the Year by D1Baseball, while Virginia Tech’s Sam Tackett was tabbed as the Midseason National Breakout Star.
- Perfect Game named 12 ACC student-athletes to their Midseason All-America teams, including seven on the first team. PG also pegged six ACC standouts as Midseason Freshman All-Americans.
