CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball claimed the inaugural ESPN Events’ Showdown at the Net title after winning nine of the 16 matches against the SEC. ACC teams won four out of five ranked matchups, headlined by No. 7 Pitt’s upset sweep over No. 3 Kentucky in the Shriners Children’s Showdown at the Net on Wednesday in Fort Worth, Texas.
Clemson 3, Georgia 1 (Clemson, SC) | Box Score | Highlights
Clemson claimed its sixth straight victory on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Georgia. The Tigers were led by ACC kills leader Kennedy Wagner with 16 kills, Mia McGrath with four service aces, Nil Okur with five blocks, Katherine Sandt with 45 assists and Mia McGrath with 10 digs. Clemson is currently one of five undefeated teams left in the league, marking the 10th time in program history and first time since 2014 that the Tigers started the season 6-0.

In their first week being ranked in the AVCA/Taraflex Top 25 poll this season, the No. 25 Tar Heels upset No. 11 Florida in sweeping fashion. North Carolina was led by Safi Hampton (11 kills) and Hailey Pearce (10 kills) on offense with Chelsea Thorpe and Jackie Taylor recording four blocks a piece for the Tar Heel defense. North Carolina (5-0) is one of five undefeated ACC teams to start the season.

The Mustangs (6-0) took home their second ranked win of the season after an upset sweep over No. 8 Texas A&M on Tuesday. Jadyn Livings dominated for the SMU offense with 14 kills while two-time ACC Setter of the Week Averi Carlson recorded 29 assists and five blocks. Favor Anyanwu added eight blocks to help lead the defense. The Mustangs remain one of the five ACC Volleyball programs undefeated this season with a 6-0 record.
Boston College 3, Arkansas 2 (Fayetteville, AR) | Box Score
Boston College continues its undefeated season after a 3-2 win over Arkansas on Tuesday. Cornelia Roach and Audrey Ross each put down 12 kills while Bella Ehrlich recorded nine blocks and Brooklyn Yelland recorded 16 digs to help lead the Eagles to their sixth straight win. This victory marked the Eagles first against an SEC opponent since 2021.

Elia Rubin led the team offensively, recording 20 kills off the hands of setter Logan Parks, who put up 58 assists to also lead all ACC setters on the week. Erika Sayer added 16 kills while Julia Blyashov added 14. The Cardinal posted the highest hitting percentage of any ACC team in the Showdown at .408.
NC State 3, South Carolina 1 (Raleigh, NC) | Box Score
Lily Cropper, Sa’Mya Dorsey and Talia Francom recorded three blocks a piece and Zuzanna Maciejewicz recorded 21 digs for the Wolfpack defense in the win against South Carolina on Wednesday while senior outside hitter Courtney Bryant recorded a season-high 16 kills with a .310 hitting percentage. The win marks NC State’s first against a SEC opponent since 2021.

The reigning ACC Champions swept reigning SEC Champions No. 3 Kentucky in Fort Worth, Texas. Brooke Mosher recorded 39 assists and 13 digs to help lead Pitt to a .349 hitting percentage. The win marked Pitt head coach Dan Fisher’s 400th career win. Olivia Babcock anchored the Panthers’ attack with 15 kills while Dagmar Mourits recorded a career-high 13 kills in the win. Bre Kelley posted a .833 hitting percentage, the highest percentage of any ACC player in the Showcase.
Miami 3, Ole Miss 2 (Coral Gables, FL) | Box Score
Flormarie Heredia Colon posted a Showcase-high and season-high 26 kills while teammate Dalia Wilson led the league with a season-high 10 blocks to help take down the Rebels. Setter Ariana Rodriguez recorded 46 assists in the win. The Hurricanes are on a five-match winning streak heading into the weekend.
California 3, Vanderbilt 2 (Berkeley, CA) | Box Score
California took home the win in the late-night five-set thriller against Vanderbilt in reverse-sweep fashion. Outside hitter Dominique Phillis and setter Natalie Lau led the offense with 16 kills and 47 assists, respectively, while Sophia Johnson anchored the Golden Bears’ defense with 25 digs. Phills and Peyton DeJardin both recorded a double-double for Cal.
